I have the neck pain thang. Basically means a hell of a lot of pain. I play, I pay. I love to ride and enjoy life, so I try to ride as a second on a comfy bike, which can be simply riding with someone on any bike where they don't pop the clutch a lot, or slam on the brakes. The bike I ride has been adjusted to be as comfy as possible. I love to ride fast, love curves, and think riding is like 3 days in the bahamas. I just have to take shorter rides. No 8 hrs of solid riding for me!
Here is something to try the may or not may work for you, (give it some time it will take a few days or a week)
IF it were me (legal stuff, i have to say that).. go to wall mart or your local health food store and get some stuff called MSM 500MG, this is an anti-inflammatory and usually this is where most of the pain is coming from. Ok this stuff goes through the system like Vitamin C so you want to take it about 3 times a day. You can run a search on MSM and should come up with lots of relevant info
Find a good theraputic massage person. See what they have to say.
To all of you with pain, boy can I understand where your coming from. Had a big pain in the neck for years, fired the doctor, hired a lawyer and like that she and the neck pain were gone... But my back pain as you can see is here to stay.
Tried everything and my bikes are for sure the best medicine.

I know what you all are feeling. I have had lower back pain for about 8 years now. Been on pain killers that long also, eat them like candy and get no relief. Course, some days are better than others, depends on how active I have been. Mine is in my muscles. Took me 3 years and a bunch of doctors to even believe me. Walked out of the offices in tears and even thought a few times that I was crazy.
Have been through all the tests and pain management you can think of.
I have learned the hard way on what I can do and not do, so as long as I know and stay within my limits I do pretty good.
Here lately I have had this other new thing going on, didn't even know it existed (Restless leg syndrome) now I am on another med for this. I could just about open my own RX.

MRI was finally approved. Yippee. Finally some good pics.

DD the epidural shots didn't work. My Dr. gave me Morphine to take 4x's a day.
I can't take that much or I won't be able to function at work. So I take 1 or 2 a day.
Now I'm waiting for an approval from my Ins. Co. to get more MRI's of my entire spine. The Dr. thinks that some of my disks collapsed from the pain I described to him, and what I'm feeling. "Plus I'm feeling short again"
that's what happened last time. I shrunk 1 1/2 inches. Was 5' 9 1/2" before my neck surgery then just before my surgery I was 5' 8". After my surgery I was 5' 9". The Dr. gave me an inch back.
"It just doesn't look good" I'm keeping my fingers crossed...........
I'm crossin my fingers, eyes, and toes but I ain't crossdressin dammit!!!
Well I would if it would help but I'm thinkin I'd just horrify a bunch of people and not even help ya!!

I am a massage therapist here in WI and have had great results with my fibro clients doing Swedish massage w/hot stones and Trigger Point Therapy. IMHO If done correctly ..... Trigger Point Therapy is incredible for pain relief. So very often, tender points correspond with trigger point referred pain areas ... it's amazing. So, Come and see me in my office ...... BK members get a free massage.

hey Double Delight 2 years ago I was dignosed with fibermyalga, I have tried numerous narcatic, and non narcotic scripts ,the blunt of it is tramodel or ultracet have helped me to manage the pain level ,I recently signed up for a pain management, and fibermyalga support group . Have you ever tried soft tissue massage or hot tub use , these both have really helped me out a whole bunch . Good Luck Leica

Seeme I got my 1st shot yesterday in my lower back. I still feel kinda weird. My whole back is sore now and my legs hurt. "I don't know if I'm supposed to feel like that". My next shot is next Monday - "I really hope these shots work" I don't want surgery again. I went through hell with my neck and I'm sure the lower back will be worse. I'm putting surgery off. That will be a last resort like I did with my neck.
take it easy and relax--the meds take time to work thru--it is slightly invasive--i've since had them in my foot and knee and yes the 1st one was the funkiest
but if in a couple of days you don't start to feel a little better i would talk to the Dr just to update
and your in my thoughts and prayers that it will help you
